Prince of Wales
CLIENT: Private Client
SIZE: 300 sq m
YEAR: 2015 - 2016
When we first encountered Prince of Wales Road, it was a dilapidated semi-detached house on the brink of collapse. However with the collaborative and focused experience of Clive Sall Architecture and sister company Built Ltd, it has been transformed into three spacious contemporary flats in a rejuvenated and impressive Victorian building, that is now an asset to the local area.
Combining facade retention, meticulous renovation, and nuanced extensions to the basement, side, rear and roof, we were able to renew the building’s original character, whilst also increasing its floor area from 150sqm to 300sqm.
This project stands out as an exemplar of CSA’s holistic design method, in that our involvement began before the architect’s traditional point of instruction. In the first instance we sourced the opportunity and matched it with a client, we then designed, planned, and finally delivered the project, the whole time working hand-in-hand with our sister construction company Built Ltd.
